posted May 30, 2010 9:17 AM by Chris Buehnerkemper   [ updated May 30, 2010 9:19 AM ]

On Memorial Day (this Monday) there will be no 09:00 mass at church. Instead I will offer a special Mass at our Cemetery at 10:00 for our friends and family members who died ‘Under Arms’ as well as for all deceased Veterans. All are invited.

Here are some other Ways to Observe This Day:
-Visit cemeteries and place flags or flowers on the graves of our fallen heroes.
-Visit local memorials.
-Fly the U.S. Flag at half-staff until noon.
-Fly the POW/MIA Flag
-Pledge to aid the widows, widowers, and orphans of our fallen soldiers, and to aid the disabled veterans.
-Pray for Peace

Christmas Baskets

posted Dec 29, 2009 10:27 AM by Chris Buehnerkemper   [ updated Dec 29, 2009 1:25 PM ]

Check out this mini-documentary of the Christmas Basket preparation at St Peters. Thanks to Catholic Charities of Lake County's Rural Food Project and fearless leader Hedy Montoya along with her troop of tireless volunteers, over 200 boxes of food and gifts were handed out to needy families of Lake County fora hearty Christmas dinner. There was no time to ask any questions of anyone since they were all so busy but this should give you an idea of how much work it takes each year.
